A Series is a specific era  of the CATALYSM! Universe. Each one marks a new chapter in the universe and ongoing story. stakes change, and the universe moves forward without resetting.

A Series’ ends when our “CATACLYSM!” Events happen, big status quo shifting events that has all of the universe come together.

Every CATACLYSM! story is designed and written with two truths: It exists within a larger continuity (SERIES’), But also still function as a reader’s first entry point to the individual stories themselves.

This means every story is made to be understood on its own, while also contributing on adding to the world of CATACLYSM!

ATMOSPHRE & PERSPECTIVE

CATACLYSM! is built on the idea that you aren’t ever seeing the fuller picture, you are only seeing a moment in time.

Inspired by the quiet isolation and still life of Edward Hopper, and the quiet dystopia in Simon Stålenhag’s work in Tales from the Loop, Things from the Flood, and Electric State. CATACYSM! stories often feel like they are a glimpses into a much larger, living world. Scenes are allowed to breathe. Character exist beyond the panel. Events already happened before you open a book, and continue after you close it.

We hope this creates a sense of nostalgia for something you weren’t ever there to experience. a world you could believe in. CATACLYSM! draws heavily from the late 90s to early 2000s, a period defined by change and uncertainty, but always moving forward.
